This spring you can enjoy the nice weather and play bocce at various locations in DC/VA/MD: Arlington, Bethesda, Capitol Hill, Crystal City, Columbia Heights Adams Morgan, or Dupont.

The Season runs for eight weeks including a play-off tournament, two end-of-season events, contests, giveaways, and food & drink specials after each night's match.

Bocce is a great game that is enjoyed by players of all ages and abilities, and DC Bocce is a league that is well organized and easy to make friends in.

Why buy some newfangled bikes, gear and other thingies when you can purchase bikes for a fraction of the cost, find clothing and swap parts all in one place? If this sounds like a perfectly reasonable and practical use of a Saturday to you, head on down to the North Hall of the Eastern Market on April 2nd for the First Annual Pedal Pusher’s Bike Swap.  Hours are 8:30 am -2 pm and you can find it at the corner of 7th Street NE and North Carolina Avenue.

CityDance DREAM Program Performs On Big Stage

This past Tuesday, March 8, 144 students from the District and Prince George’s County, Maryland who participate in the D.C. CityDance DREAM after-school outreach program performed a six-minute dance routine at halftime of the Washington Wizards game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

CityDance, which was founded in 1996, is a professional dance company and a conservatory, training school that offers free community dance and literacy programs to children throughout the D.C. area, taught by CityDance Ensemble members.  Tuesday evening marked the sixth year that the DREAM program students have performed at the Verizon Center.

The after-school program combines dance lessons with reading and writing help, something that DREAM teacher Charonne Butler believes is incredibly beneficial to the students.

Wizards to Host Viewing Parties in Northern Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Washington Wizards will host viewing parties on Friday February 25 to support the team as they face the Miami Heat. Although the game will tip-off at 7:00 pm, fans will have the chance to get ready for the game at Grevey’s  with happy hour specials starting at 6:00 pm. Specials include $3.50 Budweiser and Bud Light as well as the Kentucky Burger as a salute to Wizards guard John Wall.   Icons will join the viewing fun at 9:00 with $3 Michelob ultras, $5 chicken phillys and $9 Budweiser pitchers. In addition, fans will have a chance to win prizes that include tickets to a Wizards game as well as autographed jerseys.
